Brand design isn’t always interpreted by consumers in the way you envisioned


Recent set of documentaries on the BBC that follow eight individuals as they try to launch new products. Jo Malone and Nick Leslau help them develop the products.
Especially interesting to see some of the well known design agencies pitching different branding/packaging ideas to them. Worth a watch.

Here’s another sign I walked past the other day. I quite like it. It has a certain naff charm. It kind of invites me in to browse. I might find something interesting in there.

I also strolled past this one. Could you make a place sound any less appealing? Kill me now.

Qlocktwo, a beautiful piece of digital design. A matrix with symmetrically arranged characters forms an additional square on the inside. Some of these characters glow in pure white, thus forming words that describe the time.

On April 1, 1977 the British newspaper The Guardian published a seven-page “special report” about San Serriffe, a small republic located in the Indian Ocean consisting of several semi-colon-shaped islands. A series of articles described the geography and culture of this obscure nation.
