This year sees Laurence King mark 20 years of independent publishing. To note their anniversary Don’t Panic and Grafik Magazine are giving you the chance to design some celebratory artwork for the occasion.

If you fancy a go and feel like a challenge, give yourself a day to produce a creative poster marking the 20th anniversary. It is based on a voting system– people must “like” your entry through Facebook or Twitter for you to be in with a chance of cutting the top 20 and getting your poster produced.

There’s a little healthy competition bubbling at The Chase – check out entries designed by recent UCLAN graduate Ben Tustin (currently with us on placement) and designer/friend-of-TDOD Harry Heptonstall.

The disciples have just been sent some old club flyers from Preston courtesy of Neil Dawkins. They truly are a trip down memory lane and feature some of the ‘hot nite spots’ and ‘copping off ‘ joints frequented by the art & design students in the late 80′s (thats 1980′s). Enjoy.

The record-playing cardboard package from Grey Vancouver who have recently re-branded GGRB a music recording company in North America an come up with this wonderful piece of direct mail for their self promotion. The self-sufficient packaging makes a very low tech, yet audio-capable record player.

In the 1970′s & 80′s the youth of our nation were politically aware and had opinions. They were pro -active and got involved through various causes in voicing these opinions and trying to change society and the world for the better. They were idealistic, pro-active and in a constant battle with some form of authority. Today we have facebook and all is well with the world?
