Last weekend, Michael Potts, Andrew Bovaird and myself went to visit the “Designs of the year” exhibtion at The Design Museum in London.
The show is a fantastic showcase of the best designs of the last year, with a huge variety of creative ideas from product design to fashion, and lots of chairs.
I have included a few of my favorites below:
The designs I had the most appreciation for were mainly designs that are useful and that have the potential to change peoples lives for the better. These designs get my vote to win design of the year 2012. – which will be announced in April.

Massoud Hassani’s Mine Kafon, an amazing concept for a wind-powered land mine clearing device

Arthur Brutter + Ido Bruno: Earthquake Proof Table – In case of school ceiling collapse the earthquake-proof table provides both covering protection and passageways for rescue team accessibility.

Redesign for the emergency ambulance – Standardised treatment packs ensure efficiency as well as infection control, while the easy-to-clean and unintimidating interiors helps to increase patient comfort.
And heres some other stuff that I rated:

Noma Bar’s cut it out exhibition
If your in or visiting London at any point between now and the 15th July 2012, I would highly recommend going for a gander. (Especially if you like chairs.)
The design museum currently also has an exhibition on Terence Conran’s life and work (which is also included in your ticket). Worth a look as well.
