Design legend Wim Crouwel shares the story of his famous typeface New Alphabet. Back in the 60′s, Wim was one of the first designers to think laterally about how typography could be effectively applied in a new and emerging digital space. It’s a typeface that Wim describes as ‘theoretical’ and ‘unreadable’. It works around the limitations of pixels by using only 90 and 45 degree angles. The typeface enjoyed a renaissance in the 90′s, especially in the UK.
His work is incredible…anybody who is in London must try and make it to the Design Museum to view his exhibition starting next week! Seeing the legend himself will be awesome, a great opportunity for all!
