PHANTOM SUN

For reasons I can’t really explain, I tend to get disproportionately excited by unusual atmospheric phenomenon. Take this strange celestial event, that appears to show three suns appearing above Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in northeast China. Experts describe such a phenomenon as a “phantom sun”, which is an optical refraction in the atmosphere. Spotted over here.
