Youtube has launched a review of the best content of 2010. Much of it is trashy, but there are a few videos / developments / stories that seemed worth sharing.
First of all youtube turned 5 this year. Staggering really, to think it’s only 5 years old.
French connection launched the first official youtube boutique, or ‘youtique’.
Orabrush: Tired of unsuccessfully pitching his product to the dental industry, Dr Bob Wagstaff filmed his own youtube commercial instead. 13.5 million hits translated into over $1m worth of sales in 2010.

Google also launched auto-captioning, which combines some of the speech-to-text algorithms found in Google’s Voice Search to automatically generate video captions when requested by a viewer. The video owner can also download the auto-generated captions, improve them, and upload the new version. Viewers can even choose an option to translate those captions into any one of 50 different languages, all in just a couple of clicks. Brilliant…
