GRAFIK IS NO LONGER
Posted by Tim Sumner

Sorry to say but the print version of Grafik magazine has been put into liquidation, but is staying open online.
Is this the future for the printed publications?

Good question. And I think a reason for debate. I still buy CD’s but burn them straight to iTunes. I keep loads of printed stuff…. But spend more and more time reading online. There is nothing like the feeling of paper though. But now I have said CD’s rather than vinyl. Trees will inherit the earth.
Personally I love my printed media to bits but i do believe that the time of printed media is slowly coming to a close for things like mainstream mag’s especially with the release of products such as kindle ‘s and ipad’s where you can down load pdf versions of most magazines I do think that we have seen the close of a great deal of magazines in the last few years and the readership of various papers such as the times has dropped in favor of a online format so much to the point where they have started to charge for the service . this is not to say that there is any substitute for relaxing with a good book
Unfortunately, our magazine Carbusters have the same destiny and turned online only after 12 years of publication. http://carbusters.org/
While many people were discussing the environmental aspect of not spending paper to print, I think there’s nothing better than having a nice magazine in hand in a long distance bus.
