A REAL FEVALA CHAIR

Posted by Mike Rigby

On a recent trip to Rio I had the unusual pleasure of walking right through Brazil’s largest fevala (slum). 200,000 people live there, 200, 000! It was a real eye opener and not at all what I expected (I’ll post more about it another time). But I thought I’d share this chair I spotted.

Everyone’s seen Fernando and Humberto Campos iconic fevala chair – based on the appearance of a fevala. You can see the simarlarlites can’t you…favela-modern-armchair-design1

Anyway, I spotted this – a chair made of discarded plastic bottles. A REAL fevala chair so to speak. It’s good isn’t it.
