An ability to interpret the world around you through drawing and mark making is a fundamental. Any design student with this ability is at a distinct advantage. The ability to express ones ideas and thoughts in an instant through drawing is something I find lacking in todays average design/art student.
Maybe it’s the way things are going and I can understand why this is the case. There are several reasons I can think of why drawing is in decline, which I am not going to go into at this juncture.
