KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY

Posted by Jordan Stokes

Something a little light for friday, I thought i’d share something which has been on my agenda for a while and finally came to a head this morning.
I recently found out that my uncle when he was a photography student at MMU back in the 70′s, was asked to do a photo shoot for an up and coming band called Joy Division. The image was to be used on their first E.P sleeve. I was desperate to see this photograph and it took a while to track down the name of the record the image was used on, but i finally found my uncle credited for the photography on the sleeve for Joy Division’s record ‘Warsaw’. After asking around if anyone knew anyone who might own a copy or had any idea where i could get one for ages…This landed on my desk when i arrived into work this morning, courtesy of Tim Sinclair.

I used to be a huge fan but until now I have never seen that 7″. Sweet. Tim Sinclair is now officially your best friend in the whole world for sending such an amazing gift to you.

Remind me to go home and sort out my Sisters of Mercy collection, nearly complete on the 7″ now!
